Due to illness I've been struggling to write over the last couple of years, despite becoming a full-time author in mid 2006. This does not mean that I have given up, however. I have several projects in hand. These include:

1. A major novel about Richard III. Oh Lord! What a gruelling task this has turned out to be! There is so much known, it's really a matter of deciding what must be chopped away to produce a readable novel. The ground has been gone over so many times, and I want to write something a bit different. My current inclination is to split it into two books, but I am still undecided.

2. What I call The Norfolk Novel - although that will definitely not be its title. It's an experimental work set in 15th century Norfolk. I'm not sure if anyone will want to publish it as it is a bit odd, reflecting my weird sense of humour. Might appeal to those who liked Alianore Audley, but it's a different thing again. I'm pretty much writing this for myself.

3. The Urraca project - a novel about 11th century Spain. Well, I felt like a change from late medieval England. Trying to research this has taught me how little I know, and I fear this may be delayed as a result. Unless I can find a way to conceal my ignorance of this very complex and multi-layered society!
