The links below are to the pages of other Historical Fiction writers whose works you may enjoy. All of them have inspired and encouraged me, directly or indirectly. If you like my stuff, you will probably like theirs; and vice versa.

Bernard Cornwell - his writings cover many periods of history. Often deals with the reality of war and can be hard-edged.

Elizabeth Chadwick - well-known author of numerous novels, mostly set in the earlier middle ages in England. Lots of useful links from this site that may be of use of to authors and fellow medieval obsessives!

Wendy J Dunn - author of a remarkable novel about Anne Boleyn.

Ellen Ekstrom - author of The Legacy, a wonderful tale of 14th century Italy.

Susan Higginbotham - those of you who have enjoyed reading Within the Fetterlock may be particularly interested in Susan's novel The Traitor's Wife which focuses on the Despenser family in the early 14th century, the time of Edward II. You can find out what Thomas' ancestors got up to! Most things, actually.

Patrick O'Brian - author of the Jack Aubrey naval novels. Some find his works slow-paced; I find them realistic.

Sharon K. Penman - I am probably unique in thinking that Ms. Penman's Richard III novel, The Sunne in Splendour, is not her greatest work. But it is still the one to beat!

Gillian Polack - author, historian, and generally amazing person.

Judith Merkle Riley - the awesome Margaret of Ashbury series is but a part of her output.

Anne Easter Smith - author of A Rose For The Crown and (forthcoming) other novels of the Yorkist era.

Joan Szechtman - working on an unusual, indeed unique, series of novels about Richard III.
